WORKERS' COMPENSATION

Brinker & Doyen, L.L.P. handles workers' compensation cases of all varieties throughout Illinois and Missouri. Our clients include casualty insurers, specialty and excess workers' compensation carriers, third party administrators, and self-insured companies in the healthcare, airline, coal, restaurant, construction, trucking, and hospitality industries.

Each of our clients has different reporting requirements. We tailor our reporting to the specific needs of our clients. It is our practice to send a preliminary evaluation of a claim within 48 hours based on the initial materials we receive. We specify any additional investigation which we believe is indicated or additional information which is required.

We estimate exposure for permanent disability benefits if enough information is available at the time. Thereafter, we report when required by our client or when a significant development occurs affecting the value of the case or our analysis of liability.

Our files are organized and subdivided so that the status of various issues in a pending claim can be determined easily. This procedure allows us to report to clients quickly and efficiently. Clients are notified immediately of any settings from the workers compensation commission, and upon receipt of any settlement demand. Concise summaries of depositions, court appearances and trial are provided promptly.

Each workers' compensation file is handled by one attorney who is responsible for all depositions and court appearances. Another attorney is involved only when necessary or due to an unavoidable scheduling conflict. Our clients enjoy the consistency of communicating regularly with one attorney on a particular case.

We take an aggressive approach in the defense of claims while working in our client's best interests at all times. Due to our experience in the area of workers' compensation, our preparation for depositions, pretrial conferences, and trials is done efficiently to minimize cost to our clients. We have extensive trial experience, and have handled numerous appeals in those cases deemed appropriate by our clients.
