Sanner obtains summary judgment in premises liability case
Jon Sanner obtained summary judgment in a case wherein plaintiff alleged that she was sexually assaulted while attending a party in an apartment building owned and operated by defendant. The court found that defendant had no duty to protect plaintiff from the actions of another invitee to a party and there were no prior acts by the suspect that placed the defendant on notice of any danger to plaintiff. The court also found that the defendant had no duty to supervise parties thrown by its tenants.
