Larry obtains a Defendant’s verdict in case involving post-traumatic stress
Larry’s client was driving his dump truck westbound on Highway 270 when he started choking on coffee. He blacked out and his truck ran into the concrete median. A large bolt broke off of the truck’s steering box and flew across the median. Plaintiff was traveling eastbound on 270 and the bolt embedded itself into Plaintiff’s windshield; the bolt would have struck Plaintiff in the head if it had gone completely through the windshield. Plaintiff did not suffer any personal injuries as a result of the incident; however, she complained of severe emotional distress following the incident. She was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of the incident. The jury returned a Defendant’s verdict.
